Residents and team members from Hartwell Lodge Care Home in Fareham recently took part in a community initiative supporting The Hampshire Food Revolution, a local organisation dedicated to reducing food waste and supporting families in need.
One resident, who particularly enjoys keeping busy and getting involved in local causes, had a wonderful time helping out with food sorting and packing alongside the team. The visit was filled with smiles, teamwork, and a shared sense of purpose as everyone contributed to such a meaningful cause.
The care home also organised a collection following their initial post about the charity, which inspired families, staff, and friends to donate. Thanks to their generosity, Hartwell Lodge was able to deliver two full boxes and two large bags of donations to The Hampshire Food Revolution – all gratefully received.
The homes manager, Jenniffer, said:
“We’re always looking for ways to stay connected with our community, and this was such a rewarding experience for everyone involved. The Hampshire Food Revolution does amazing work, and we’re proud to play a small part in supporting them.”
The team at Hartwell Lodge looks forward to continuing their partnership with local community projects that bring people together and make a difference
