Residents from The Firs Residential Home enjoyed a wonderful afternoon out with a visit to A La Ronde, the much-loved 16-sided house near Exmouth
The group took a short ride to the National Trust property, where residents had the chance to explore the unique building, learn more about its fascinating history and discover the story of the Parminter sisters, who created the remarkable home.
A La Ronde is known for its unusual shape, beautiful setting and rich history, making it a memorable place for residents to visit, reminisce and enjoy something a little different.
After exploring the house, residents found the perfect spot in the garden to relax and enjoy a picnic together, with views overlooking the Exe Estuary.
The afternoon ended in the best possible way – with a tasty ice cream in the sunshine.
Emma, Home Manager at The Firs Residential Home, said: “Our residents had such a lovely afternoon at A La Ronde. They really enjoyed learning about the history of the house and taking in the beautiful views from the garden. It was one of those simple, joyful days out that everyone came back talking about.
“We would also like to say a special thank you to all the staff at A La Ronde, who were so friendly, helpful and welcoming throughout our visit.”
The trip forms part of The Firs’ varied activities programme, which supports residents to stay connected with the local community, enjoy new experiences and make the most of meaningful days out together.
