Arrrr mateys! Blackwater Mill Care Home was transformed into a pirate haven as residents and staff celebrated Talk Like a Pirate Day with a swashbuckling array of activities.

The day kicked off in grand style as everyone gathered to watch the classic film Treasure Island, getting into the spirit of the high seas adventure. After the film, lunchtime became an opportunity to rehearse some pirate vocabulary, with residents enthusiastically practicing their best “Arrrs!” and “Ahoy mateys!” over a hearty meal.

The excitement continued into the afternoon, which was packed with more pirate-themed fun. The grand finale featured a rousing performance by the Sea Gels Shanty Band, who entertained everyone with toe-tapping sea shanties that filled the room with energy and joy.
