This Halloween, staff and residents at West Bank Residential Home embraced the spirit of the season with a creative and interactive community event. Residents and staff spent time together painting Halloween-themed rocks, transforming them into colourful, spooky designs. Once the rocks were completed, they were hidden around the area, inviting the children of Ross to join in the fun by hunting for the “Trick-or-Treat Rocks.”
Local children were asked to bring any rocks they found back to West Bank Residential Home, where a “Treat or maybe a Trick” awaited each participant. The response from the community was fantastic, with children of all ages eagerly joining in to find and return the painted rocks. As they arrived at West Bank, the children were met with a warm welcome and a lively Halloween celebration, complete with costumes, fun activities, and a few surprise tricks or treats.
The festivities didn’t end with the rock hunt. Inside the home, residents, staff, and visiting families enjoyed a day filled with Music & Movement, Halloween games, and plenty of laughter. The spirit of the season was felt throughout the home, as everyone joined in on the spooky fun, dressed in their Halloween best.
This event was more than just a Halloween celebration; it was a wonderful opportunity for residents to connect with the community and share in a joyful, intergenerational activity. West Bank Residential Home would like to thank the children and families of Ross for making this day so memorable, and for helping bring the community together through a simple, creative gesture. Here’s to many more community-centred celebrations that lift spirits and bring smiles to everyone involved.
