Residents from Hartwell Lodge Care Home enjoyed a delightful outing this Saturday with a special trip to the local theatre to see the matinee performance of My Fair Lady.
The much-loved musical, performed by the local musical society, was the perfect choice for a group of theatre enthusiasts from the home. Laughter, music, and plenty of toe-tapping moments filled the afternoon as residents immersed themselves in the timeless story and songs.
Of course, no theatre trip would be complete without a sweet treat — so interval ice creams were a must! Smiles and chatter continued long after the final curtain call, with everyone sharing their favourite moments from the show.
Home Manager Jennifer Daly said:
“It’s always such a joy to be able to take our residents out to events like this. Seeing the excitement on their faces and hearing them sing along quietly to the songs was truly special. Outings like these are about so much more than entertainment — they’re about creating memories, sparking conversation, and keeping those cherished hobbies alive.”
The afternoon was made possible thanks to the dedication of the Hartwell Lodge team, who ensure that residents continue to enjoy experiences in the local community that bring joy, connection, and plenty of conversation back home.
