Residents at The Firs Care Home were all smiles this week as they took part in a lively fun fitness session – complete with a colourful parachute game that had everyone moving, laughing, and joining in.
The session was a joyful way to stretch muscles, boost circulation, and gently work off a few festive mince pies after the Christmas celebrations. With plenty of encouragement and good humour, residents worked together to lift, wave, and bounce the parachute, turning exercise into a shared moment of connection and fun.
At The Firs, staying active is about so much more than physical movement. Group activities like this help build confidence, spark conversation, and create that lovely feeling of doing something together – no pressure, no competition, just enjoyment at your own pace.
Nikki, home manager at The Firs said:
“It was such a happy session. There was laughter all around the room, and everyone joined in as much as they felt comfortable. Moments like this really lift the mood and remind us how powerful simple, shared activities can be.”
The Firs is part of Buckland Care, where wellbeing, individuality, and everyday joy are at the heart of life in each home.
