Music Monday Brings the Beat to West Bank for Dementia Action Week

West Bank Care Home launched Dementia Action Week with a bang—quite literally—as residents took part in an uplifting drumming session for Music Monday, led by the brilliant Caroline from Yoga Me Time.

Laughter, rhythm and connection filled the room as residents clapped, tapped and swayed along to the beat. The energy was infectious, with smiles all round and plenty of toe-tapping joy.

Music can be an incredibly powerful way to reach those living with dementia, offering comfort, stimulation and a wonderful sense of connection—and today was a perfect example of that in action.

The Home Manager said:
“It was a fantastic way to start the week. Music brings out such joy in our residents, and Caroline created such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We’re so grateful for her visit.”

Dementia Action Week is all about raising awareness and supporting those affected—and at West Bank, that starts with simple, heartfelt moments that bring people together.
