There was a lovely buzz in the lounge this afternoon as residents settled in with a selection of today’s newspapers, a warm cuppa, and a plate of pastries that didn’t last long at all.
With so many headlines to browse, conversation came easily. Stories were shared, memories resurfaced, and a few light-hearted debates made their way around the room. It’s surprising how quickly a single news story can bring people together.
The best moment came when Hazel opened The Journal and paused.
Right there on the front page was a photo from the recent trip to Kings Garden Centre — and she was in it. Her eyes lit up as she laughed, “Finally my claim to fame!”
It was a simple afternoon, but one filled with connection, joy and a lovely bit of excitement. A reminder that keeping the mind active doesn’t have to be complicated — sometimes all it takes is good company, a newspaper, and the kind of moment that makes someone’s day.
