Revving Up the Memories at The Firs Residential Home

Residents at The Firs Residential Home enjoyed a very special surprise this week, as a piece of history rolled up to the front door — a 1940s Norton 16H motorbike, lovingly brought in by local enthusiast Chris.

Chris, a member of the public with a passion for vintage bikes, got in touch with the team to offer residents a chance to see (and sit on!) his beautiful wartime-era motorcycle. While the engine remained safely switched off, the excitement certainly wasn’t.

There was plenty of reminiscing and curiosity as residents gathered outside to admire the bike’s design, swap stories, and enjoy a bit of good old-fashioned chat.

Insert quote from Home Manager or Wellbeing Lead – e.g. “It was such a thoughtful gesture from Chris, and our residents absolutely loved it. It sparked memories, smiles, and so many brilliant conversations — just the kind of morning we love here at The Firs.”

Moments like these are a reminder of how powerful simple connections can be — bringing joy, igniting nostalgia, and making a day that little bit brighter.

A heartfelt thank you to Chris for his kindness and generosity. You’ve made quite a few new fans here!
