Residents and staff at Hartwell Lodge Care Home in Fareham enjoyed a sparkling evening of fun and festivities as they gathered to celebrate Bonfire Night together.
The home’s garden was transformed with colourful decorations and twinkling lights, creating the perfect atmosphere for the evening’s celebrations. Residents wrapped up warm to enjoy a dazzling display of fireworks, followed by traditional treats including hot chocolate, toffee apples, and freshly made jacket potatoes.
There was plenty of laughter and chatter as residents reminisced about past Bonfire Nights from their younger years — sharing stories of family gatherings, village bonfires, and homemade sparklers. The team ensured everyone could join in safely, with an indoor viewing area for those who preferred to watch from the comfort of the lounge.
Home Manager Jennifer Daly said:
“Bonfire Night is always such a highlight for our residents. It brings back so many happy memories and gives everyone a reason to come together and celebrate. The atmosphere was lovely, and seeing everyone’s faces light up with the fireworks was just wonderful.”
The evening rounded off with a hearty singalong, mugs of tea, and plenty of smiles — a true reflection of the warmth and community spirit that makes Hartwell Lodge feel like home.
