Residents and staff at The Firs Care Home in Budleigh Salterton have been busy spreading festive joy this season by putting together Christmas shoeboxes filled with thoughtful gifts for local children.
The beautifully wrapped boxes have now been delivered to Budleigh Salterton Baptist Church, ready to be distributed to children who might otherwise go without this Christmas.
Each box was packed with care and love by residents and team members, containing toys, sweets, and warm winter treats. The home’s activities team said it was wonderful to see everyone getting involved – choosing items, wrapping gifts, and adding personal touches to make each box special.
“It’s lovely to know these small boxes can bring so much happiness,” said one resident. “We had such fun picking out the gifts and imagining the smiles on the children’s faces.”
Home Manager Nikki shared her pride in the home’s efforts:
“This time of year is all about giving, and our residents really wanted to do something meaningful for the community. Seeing everyone come together to make these boxes was heartwarming – it’s such a simple way to spread kindness and joy.”
The Firs is proud to be part of the local Budleigh community and to support initiatives that bring people together during the festive season.
