A Budleigh Salterton care home resident has celebrated a very special milestone as she turns 100 years old.
Dotty, who lives at The Firs Residential Home, was treated to a surprise early birthday party ahead of her big day, with fellow residents and the team coming together to make sure her centenary was celebrated in style.
With Dotty already having lots of family celebrations planned for her birthday, the team at The Firs decided to get the festivities started a little early.
There was plenty of cake and refreshments, along with singing, dancing and lots of laughter as everyone gathered to celebrate the milestone with her.
Emma, Home Manager at The Firs Residential Home, said: “You don’t get to celebrate a 100th birthday every day, so we knew we had to make a fuss of Dotty!
“She is very much loved here at The Firs and it was wonderful to see everyone come together to celebrate with her.
“There was singing, dancing, plenty of cake and so much laughter. Seeing Dotty enjoying herself surrounded by people who care about her made it incredibly special.
“She has lots more celebrating to do with her family on her actual birthday, so we were very happy to get the party started early.
“Happy 100th birthday, Dotty, from everyone at The Firs. We feel very lucky to have been able to share such a wonderful milestone with you.”
