The Firs Residents Brave the Chill for a Memorable Big Garden Birdwatch
Residents at The Firs embraced the great outdoors this week, wrapping up warm to take part in the annual Big Garden Birdwatch. Armed with binoculars and notepads, the group gathered in the garden to enjoy a breath of fresh air and spot as many feathered friends as they could.
For Iris, the event was particularly meaningful. As a former member of the RSPB, she shared fond memories of her days spent birdwatching and spoke warmly about her pet Jackdaw, Dick, who she described as full of character and a constant companion. Her stories added an extra layer of joy to the day, sparking conversations and smiles among her fellow residents.
Despite the birds being a little shy this year, the residents thoroughly enjoyed the experience. From sharing anecdotes about past wildlife encounters to appreciating the peaceful surroundings of the garden, it was a wonderful way to connect with nature and each other.
