West Bank Care Home celebrated its 2024 Sports Day with a spectacular array of events that brought together residents, families, and staff for a day filled with competitive spirit, laughter, and a touch of cheeky fun.

The day kicked off with an enthusiastic baton relay, followed by spirited swimming, rowing, and boxing matches. The excitement was palpable, with participants giving their all, and a few good-naturedly pushing the boundaries, leading to red and yellow cards, and even a disqualification, much to everyone’s amusement.

One of the highlights of the day was the Egg & Spoon race, a family favourite, where Jenny, a residents daughter, emerged victorious, proudly taking home the gold medal. This race, in particular, showcased the wonderful support and involvement of our residents’ families, who were keen to join in the fun and ensure their loved ones enjoyed every moment.

As the events unfolded, the sounds of cheers and laughter filled the air, creating an atmosphere of joy and camaraderie. It was heartwarming to see everyone come together, reinforcing the strong sense of community that defines West Bank Care Home.

To cap off the festivities, lunch was served alfresco style, allowing everyone to bask in the pleasant weather while enjoying a delicious meal. The combination of delightful food and the shared experiences of the day made for a truly unforgettable event.
