To celebrate National Book Day, West Bank Residential Home residents and staff visited St Joseph’s Nursery as part of an inter-generational project between West Bank and St Joseph’s. The visit was a great success and marked the beginning of a monthly exchange program between the two premises.
The interaction between the residents and children was heartwarming, with everyone benefiting from the experience. The residents enjoyed reading stories to the children and sharing their own childhood memories, while the children learned about different generations and gained valuable insights from their elderly companions.
West Bank Residential Home is committed to providing opportunities for its residents to remain active and engaged in their community. The inter-generational project with St Joseph’s Nursery is just one of the ways that West Bank is achieving this goal.
“We are thrilled to have partnered with St Joseph’s Nursery for this inter-generational project,” said Judy the manger of West Bank Residential Home. “The benefits for our residents and the children are immeasurable, and we look forward to hosting the next visit at Westbank in April.”
Westbank Residential Home would like to thank Emily Lerago, Nursery Manager, and St Joseph’s Primary for agreeing to be part of this project. The monthly visits will alternate between the two premises, and we are excited about the opportunities this will bring for our residents and the children.
