Residents at The Firs Residential Home in Budleigh Salterton enjoyed a scrumdiddlyumptious afternoon as the home was transformed into a world of pure imagination for a special Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-themed celebration.
Inspired by Roald Dahl’s much-loved story, the afternoon brought a little Willy Wonka magic to the home, with delicious sweet treats, chocolatey delights and plenty of laughter.
The star of the show was a chocolate fountain, where residents could enjoy dipping treats into the flowing melted chocolate. With plenty of goodies to choose from, there was something to satisfy every sweet tooth.
The themed afternoon gave residents the chance to spend time together, enjoy a little indulgence and share memories of the famous story and its much-loved characters.
Emma, Home Manager at The Firs, said: “We had such a wonderful afternoon and I think it’s safe to say everyone enjoyed indulging in a little chocolate!
“The chocolate fountain was definitely the highlight, and it was lovely to see everyone getting involved and having such a good time.
“We love organising activities that are a little bit different, and our Charlie and the Chocolate Factory afternoon certainly brought plenty of smiles. It’s these shared experiences that make life at The Firs so special.”
The afternoon was another example of the varied activities organised at The Firs, helping residents stay socially connected, enjoy their interests and continue making happy memories together.
