Staff at Brunswick House have taken part in a gruelling 24 hour fundraiser for the residents.
18 members of staff took it in turns to pedal and row on equipment borrowed from their sponsors, The Gym Group, last week, never stopping in 24 hours. The team are fundraising to purchase a minibus suitable for the residents, which they feel will be an invaluable asset to their service.
Rachael the manager said, “We long to take our residents on spur of the moment trips to Weston-Super-Mare, services at the cathedral, and even to garden centres. We do currently do outings but it can be tricky relying on third parties for these trips, they don’t always have availability and they have to be planned well in advance. We believe the quality of life of residents would be positively impacted, and this we can’t put a price on. Our fundraising will be ongoing with monthly coffee mornings, a “gofundme” page, and future events to enrich the lives of the residents, maintain and create community links, and keep funds rolling in. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far.”
Brunswick House also held a raffle and had prizes donated from many local companies such as Westonbirt Arboretum, BIRD LAND, Ellenborough Park and Roses Theatre.
