The residents of Blackwater Mill Residential Home had a wonderful Christmas season filled with creativity, delicious food and generous donations. The holiday spirit was kicked off with the residents creating beautiful Christmas decorations using wood and pine cones collected from the home’s grounds. The chefs at the home also treated the residents to a delicious Christmas buffet and festive menu.
Throughout December, the residents were showered with generosity from various organizations and individuals. Rookley Co-op made generous donations of mince pies, the 4th Eling Waingunga cubs sent beautiful cards and uplifting messages, and 64 lovely Christmas cards were made by children at the Newport Day of Christmas event, courtesy of Charlotte from the Youth Trust. The residents also enjoyed opening presents donated by kind individuals who made a huge difference to their day.
The generosity did not stop there, as Macie and her mum Dana surprised the residents with cards and gifts for those who do not have much family. The residents were thrilled to receive a Christmas card and a beautiful plant sent by a lovely lady called Sherrie. The staff and residents also extend their gratitude to Embracing Age for the wonderful gifts they received from them.
The residents of Blackwater Mill Residential Home would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the organizations and individuals who made their Christmas season so special. The kindness and generosity shown was truly heartwarming.
