Brunswick House Nursing & Residential Home welcomed Bird on a Hand for a special interactive owl experience, giving residents the chance to get up close to the birds – and, for those feeling brave, even hold them.
The visit brought plenty of smiles, a few surprised expressions and lots of conversation as residents came face-to-face with the owls.
For some, it was the first time they had ever held an owl, while others were simply fascinated by the chance to see the birds at such close quarters.
Karen, Home Manager at Brunswick House, said: “It was such a lovely experience for our residents. You could see their faces light up as soon as the owls arrived.
“There was a real mixture of excitement and amazement, particularly when residents were able to hold them. Experiences like this are wonderful because they’re not just enjoyable in the moment – they give everyone something to talk about afterwards too.
“A huge thank you to Bird on a Hand for making the visit so special for us.”
Brunswick House regularly organises activities, outings and visits to give residents opportunities to try something different, enjoy old interests and make new memories together.
