The Orchards residents piece together a special community art project

Residents at The Orchards Residential Home in Wroughton have enjoyed seeing their artwork brought to life as part of a special community jigsaw puzzle project celebrating creativity in care homes.
The home was delighted to be invited to take part in the Arts in Care Homes Swindon initiative, joining residents from several other local care homes to contribute to a colourful collaborative jigsaw puzzle.
Residents at The Orchards helped paint individual puzzle pieces, adding their own creative touches before they were brought together to form one finished piece.
Two residents who had taken part in the project recently enjoyed a special outing to see the completed jigsaw on display.
It was a lovely moment for the residents, who were able to see how their individual contributions had become part of something much bigger.
The visit also brought another surprise, as the home was gifted its very own copy of the puzzle to take back and enjoy with fellow residents.
Amanda, Home Manager at The Orchards Residential Home, said: “We were absolutely delighted to be invited to take part in this lovely project alongside so many other care homes in Swindon.
“Our residents really enjoyed painting their puzzle pieces, so it was wonderful for two of them to see the finished artwork. They were so proud to see how everyone’s contributions had come together.
“We were also very kindly given our own puzzle to bring home, which we’re looking forward to putting together with our residents.”
The project provided an opportunity for residents to express their creativity, enjoy being part of a wider community initiative and experience the satisfaction of seeing their artwork on display.
