Company Newsletter, Buckland Bugle – Winter Edition

We’re pleased to share with you the latest edition of our Company Newsletter, Buckland Bugle, designed to keep you informed and connected with life at our care homes.

What’s included in this edition:

Festive Celebrations: Homes across the group embraced the holiday season with carol singalongs, Christmas parties, and creative activities, bringing joy and warmth to residents, staff, and visitors alike. Highlights include Blackwater Mill’s Winter Wonderland transformation, festive wreath crafting at Inglefield, and a pantomime performance at Brunswick House

Creating Connections: Residents found joy and purpose through a variety of meaningful activities. From cooking and gardening to festive charity campaigns like The Firs’ “Bag of Hope,” these initiatives not only foster engagement but also strengthen the sense of community.

Sensory and Social Initiatives: The sensory garden at West Bank continues to enhance well-being, while music therapy at Willow Bank brought smiles through personalised playlists donated by Purple Angel Music. Kingland House also hosted alpaca visits to the delight of residents.

Fitness and Mobility: Exercise activities across homes, such as Tai Chi sessions at Kingland House and chair-based games, have promoted physical and emotional health, ensuring residents stay active and engaged.

Fundraising and Community Spirit: Events like Hartwell Lodge’s Christmas Craft Fayre and Blackwater Mill’s Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day combined fun and philanthropy. Willow Bank hosted a dementia awareness talk and charity auction to support Alzheimer’s research.

We hope you enjoy it!
