This December, Hartwell Lodge Care Home is set to bring the community together with a Sensory Christmas Session, celebrating the festive season in a unique and meaningful way.
The event, organised by Levana infant massage and led by the cheerful Elf Evelyn, offers an opportunity for families with young children to share special moments with the residents of Hartwell Lodge. Christmas-themed sensory play will be the highlight of the session, designed to spark joy, encourage interaction, and create bonds across generations.
Intergenerational activities have been proven to bring tremendous benefits. For older adults, they offer a chance to reduce feelings of loneliness and rekindle a sense of joy and purpose. For younger participants, the experience fosters empathy, understanding, and the opportunity to learn from a different generation.
In addition to the sensory play, attendees can choose to create keepsake artwork or a Christmas bauble for a small additional charge. These crafts make wonderful mementos of the day, perfect for remembering the joy shared between the youngest and oldest participants.
Refreshments will be provided to ensure everyone feels welcome and comfortable during this festive celebration.
This event is the perfect opportunity to embrace the true spirit of the season—connection, joy, and togetherness. And brings back those beautiful memories of raising their own children and the magic that Christmas provides for families.
