Residents from Inglefield Nursing & Residential Home enjoyed all the fun of the circus during a special trip to see Jay Miller’s Circus – with a few thoughtful surprises helping to make the day even more memorable.
Residents and members of the care team from the Isle of Wight home headed out to enjoy an afternoon of live entertainment, with the circus providing plenty of excitement, laughter and spectacle.
However, it wasn’t only what happened inside the big top that left an impression on the group.
From the moment the Inglefield minibus arrived, members of the Jay Miller’s Circus team went out of their way to make sure everyone felt welcome and able to enjoy the experience. They helped staff with residents’ wheelchairs and made sure the group was comfortable and settled.
When a couple of residents found the music a little too loud, the circus team quickly provided ear defenders, allowing them to continue enjoying the show comfortably.
And there was one final surprise waiting for the residents at the end of their visit.
As the group was getting ready to leave, Wight Ices pulled up – and one of the circus team kindly treated the residents to an ice cream.
Charlotte, Home Manager at Inglefield Nursing & Residential Home, said: “We had such a wonderful time at Jay Miller’s Circus. The show itself was fantastic, but what really stood out to us was the kindness shown to our residents throughout the visit.
“From helping us with wheelchairs when we arrived to finding ear defenders when the music became a little too loud, nothing was too much trouble.
“Then, just when we thought the day couldn’t get any better, one of the circus team treated our residents to an ice cream from Wight Ices. It was such a lovely gesture and the perfect end to a brilliant day.
“We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Jay Miller’s Circus and Wight Ices for helping us create some very special memories.”
