The season of falling leaves and golden colours has inspired residents at The Firs Care Home to get creative in their latest arts and crafts session.
Armed with paints, brushes, and some more unusual tools – including broccoli and bubble wrap – residents enjoyed experimenting with different textures to create striking autumn scenes. The results were as imaginative as they were beautiful, with the natural world providing plenty of inspiration.
As well as showcasing their artistic flair, the session sparked wonderful conversations about the changing of the seasons, from snowy landscapes and cosy winter evenings to memories of autumn walks and favourite times of the year.
Nikki, Home Manager at The Firs, said:
“It’s always lovely to see our residents expressing themselves through art. Autumn gives us so many colours and textures to play with, and the conversations it brings out are just as valuable as the artwork itself. These sessions are a real highlight for everyone involved.”
The Firs continues to run a varied programme of activities designed to encourage creativity, social connection, and plenty of laughter – all while celebrating the seasons as they change.
