Residents from The Firs Residential Home enjoyed a morning of fresh air, community spirit and plenty of creativity during a visit to the East Budleigh.
The group took a stroll around the beautiful village, making the most of the sunshine while admiring the many scarecrow displays created by local people, groups and organisations.
One of the highlights of the morning was stopping to see Sir David, a scarecrow created by residents at The Firs, which was receiving plenty of attention from visitors.
Residents and team members were delighted when several festival volunteers approached them to share kind words about the scarecrow, praising the creativity and effort that had gone into making him.
The morning ended with well-earned refreshments in the Community Village Hall, giving residents the chance to sit, chat and soak up the lovely atmosphere.
A spokesperson for The Firs Residential Home said: “We had such a wonderful morning at the East Budleigh Scarecrow Festival. It was lovely for our residents to be part of such a special community event and to see their scarecrow being enjoyed by so many people.
“Activities like this mean so much. They give our residents the chance to get out and about, enjoy the local area, and feel part of the community around them. We are very grateful to the organisers and volunteers for making us feel so welcome.”
The Firs Residential Home regularly supports residents to enjoy meaningful activities and local outings, helping them stay connected with the places, people and events that matter to them.
