Residents at Mulberry House Care Home enjoyed a rather unusual visit on Friday when two gentle guests arrived to say hello.
Sam and Mark from Lakemoor Alpacas brought along two of their much-loved alpacas, Hagrid and Thunderball, much to the delight of everyone in the home.
The pair quickly became the stars of the day as residents gathered to meet them, stroke their wonderfully soft coats and snap a few photos. There was plenty of laughter as the alpacas calmly wandered around the home, bringing smiles and sparking conversation among residents, families and team members alike.
Animal visits have a lovely way of lifting the atmosphere in a care home, and Hagrid and Thunderball certainly did just that. Their gentle nature and curious personalities created a relaxed and joyful afternoon that residents will be talking about for some time.
Helen, the home manager at Mulberry House said:
“It was such a special afternoon for everyone here. Hagrid and Thunderball were incredibly calm and friendly, and the residents absolutely loved meeting them. Visits like this create wonderful moments and memories for our residents, and we’re very grateful to Sam and Mark from Lakemoor Alpacas for bringing them along.”
Mulberry House regularly arranges a variety of activities and visits designed to bring joy, stimulation and connection for residents, helping to make every day in the home feel a little brighter.
The team at Mulberry House would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Sam and Mark from Lakemoor Alpacas for sharing their beautiful animals and creating such a memorable experience.
