Therapy Dog Brings Joy to Residents at Brunswick House Nursing & Residential Home

Brunswick House Nursing & Residential Home in Gloucester was delighted to welcome back one of its most popular visitors this week – therapy dog Sasha and her owner, Tess.
The duo, who visit regularly through Pets As Therapy, spent time with residents across the home, including those who rarely leave their rooms. Their gentle presence and friendly nature brought plenty of smiles, conversation, and comfort throughout the day.
Sasha, a calm and affectionate companion, made her way from room to room, enjoying cuddles and attention from residents – and, of course, a few well-deserved treats along the way.
Hannah, the home manager for Brunswick House said:
“Sasha’s visits always create such a lovely atmosphere in the home. You can see the joy on everyone’s faces the moment she walks in. For some residents, especially those who don’t often join group activities, her visits provide real comfort and connection. We’re so grateful to Tess and Pets As Therapy for making these moments possible.”
Regular animal visits are part of Brunswick House’s approach to supporting residents’ wellbeing, offering comfort, reducing stress, and sparking happy memories for those who have had pets in the past.
Brunswick House Nursing & Residential Home is part of the Buckland Care group, a family-run provider with homes across the South of England.
