The Orchards: Who Says Gaming is Just for the Youngsters?

This week residents, at The Orchards Residential Home, teed up for a game of indoor golf, and with some impressive swings and even a hole-in-one or two, it’s safe to say these residents are seasoned pros! It’s been a fantastic way to stay active while enjoying the thrill of the game.
But that wasn’t all. The home was buzzing with activity as singing and exercise sessions kept spirits high throughout the week. Saturday’s bingo was as lively as ever, with a healthy dose of competition (and chocolate!) to keep everyone in the best of moods. Laughter filled the air as numbers were called and prizes were won.
Residents also enjoyed some peaceful craft sessions, providing a calming balance to the more competitive activities.
The highlight of the gaming season has to be Funfair Day! Natalie treated everyone to a juggling demonstration—though we won’t mention that she dropped the ball a few times! The day was packed with traditional games like hook-a-duck and can-shooting, followed by an indulgent feast of fish and chips, popcorn, and chocolate-covered marshmallows from a fabulous chocolate fountain.
With more activities on the horizon, The Orchards’ residents are eagerly looking forward to the rest of the 12-week programme—showing everyone that gaming, laughter, and fun are for all ages.
