Buckland Care Raises a Cup for Macmillan

Residents, families, and team members across Buckland Care Homes recently rolled up their sleeves, switched on the kettles, and baked up a storm in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Throughout September, homes across the group hosted their own Macmillan Coffee Mornings, welcoming relatives, friends, and local community members to enjoy a slice of cake, a cuppa, and plenty of laughter – all while raising funds for an incredible cause.

From Victoria sponges and lemon drizzle to family-favourite traybakes, every table was filled with homemade treats and generous donations. More than just a fundraiser, the events offered a lovely opportunity for connection, bringing residents and visitors together to share stories and support those affected by cancer.

“The atmosphere across our homes was fantastic,” said a Buckland Care spokesperson. “Our residents and teams poured their hearts into these events, and the generosity shown by everyone who attended has been truly heart-warming. We’re proud to play a small part in helping Macmillan continue their vital work.”

All proceeds raised from the Coffee Mornings will go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support, helping fund nurses, emotional support, and practical help for people living with cancer and their families.

For Buckland Care, it’s part of an ongoing commitment to community and compassion—one cup, one conversation, and one kind gesture at a time.
