There was a wonderful buzz at The Orchards Residential Home this evening as we welcomed our local Cub group for a special Christmas visit. The children filled the home with music, singing festive songs that had our residents smiling, tapping along, and joining in with the familiar favourites.
It was one of those simple moments that brings generations together – the kind that reminds everyone what community really means.
To say thank you for giving up their evening, we surprised the Cubs with selection boxes and hot chocolate to take home. The joy on their faces matched the joy they brought into ours.
Our Activities Coordinator shared just how much it meant:
“You could see our residents’ faces light up the moment the Cubs walked in. It wasn’t just the singing – it was the warmth, the laughter, and the feeling that the community is right here with us. Nights like this stay with people.”
We’re so grateful to the Cubs and their leaders for making the time to visit. It meant the world to our residents, many of whom said it was the highlight of their week.
The Orchards is proud to be part of a community that continues to show kindness, connection, and Christmas spirit in the loveliest of ways.
