Attendance Allowance Tips 2024 | How Much You’ll Get

Struggling a bit with daily tasks or personal care?

You might be entitled to a bit of help through Attendance Allowance. Let’s delve into what this means and how you could benefit from it.

What is Attendance Allowance?
It’s financial support for anyone over state pension age who needs a hand due to physical or mental health challenges, such as help with bathing, dressing, eating, or other daily tasks. It’s there to ease the financial strain if you need someone to care for you. Even if you’re in a care home and paying for your care, you’re still eligible. You cannot usually get Attendance Allowance if you live in a care home and your care is paid for by your local authority. You can still claim Attendance Allowance if you pay for all your care home costs yourself.

How much could you get?
For 2023/2024, the higher rate of Attendance Allowance is £101.75 per week, and the lower rate is £68.10 per week. These rates increased by 10.1% in April 2023, in line with inflation. Looking ahead, from April 2024, the higher rate will be £108.55 per week, and the lower rate will be £72.65 per week.
