Residents at Inglefield Residential Home on the Isle of Wight were treated to a heartwarming afternoon in the garden this week, thanks to some very special little visitors from a local nursery.
As the sun beamed down, children and residents rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into some gentle gardening together—planting, watering, and sharing stories as they worked side by side. The visit was filled with laughter, curiosity, and muddy hands, with both generations relishing the chance to connect and enjoy the outdoors.
The Home Manager said:
“It was such a joyful afternoon—our residents love spending time with the children, and the sunshine made it all the more special. Moments like this really brighten everyone’s day.”
The team at Inglefield, which is part of Buckland Care, are passionate about bringing the community together and creating opportunities for intergenerational connection. Events like this not only bring smiles but also help nurture a strong sense of purpose and wellbeing among residents.
And judging by the chatter (and a few cheeky biscuits), it’s safe to say the nursery children had just as much fun too!
