Kingland House in Bloom: An Afternoon of Colour, Creativity and Community

There was no shortage of smiles at Kingland House care home this week as residents, families, and friends gathered for a heart-warming afternoon of floral fun at our Buckland in Bloom event.

The garden came alive with colour, conversation, and creativity as guests took part in our cheerful plant pot decorating competition. Everyone gave it a good go, but it was Paula who wowed the judges and walked away with a gorgeous hamper prize – well done, Paula!

Visitors were also invited to pick up a mix of seasonal seeds, including sunflowers, lupins, and poppies – perfect for brightening up windowsills and gardens at home.
“It was such a lovely atmosphere – the kind of afternoon that lifts everyone’s spirits,” said a member of the Kingland House team. “Our residents really enjoy getting stuck into hands-on activities, especially when they can share them with loved ones.”

Tracy, Home Manager at Kingland House, added:
“There’s something really special about seeing everyone come together like this. It’s more than just a fun afternoon – it’s about connection, creativity, and making memories. Events like this remind us how vibrant and full of life our home really is.”

A big thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the day so special. We can’t wait to see those seeds start to grow – and we’re already planning our next community get-together!
