Mulberry House Care Home, part of the Buckland Care Group, organised a delightful Ladies Pamper & Gin Afternoon that left its residents with smiles and cherished memories.
The event, which took place on Wednesday, 11th October, saw most of the female residents eagerly participating. The Ladies Pamper & Gin Afternoon was thoughtfully organised by Claire Felton, the Activity Coordinator at Mulberry House. Claire and her team ensured that every lady received personalised invitations, setting the tone for a special gathering.
The afternoon kicked off with an array of delectable treats, including finger sandwiches with cream cheese and cucumber, followed by scones served with jam and clotted cream. However, what truly added a unique touch to this event was the presentation of the gin. Instead of conventional glasses, Gorden’s Gin, a Rhubarb & Ginger Gin, and a Mango & Orange Gin were elegantly served in china teacups and saucers, adding a touch of sophistication to the proceedings.
The highlight of the afternoon was the heartwarming poetry reading session. Published poems written by Irene, one of the cherished residents at Mulberry House, were beautifully recited by Jackie, her daughter. The readings touched the hearts of everyone present, resulting in a few tears of joy being shed.
For those residents who preferred to relax in their rooms, the caring team at Mulberry House thoughtfully offered them some Gin, ensuring that no one missed out on the festivities.
The manager of Mulberry House expressed her delight, saying, “It was a lovely afternoon with the ladies sipping gin and listening to poetry written by one of our own residents. We all agreed that this would be one of many events to be enjoyed exclusively by our wonderful ladies.”
Residents shared their thoughts on the event as well. “It was lovely to sit with a small gin and chat,” said Gail, while Greata described it as “a delightful afternoon.”
