At the Orchards we have been working hard at our entry into the annual Wroughton Scarecrow competition. With the theme being heroes this year, we have paid tribute to the founder of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale. Also fondly known as the Lady with the Lamp, Florence played a very important role in formalising nursing education and setting up training for nurses and midwives in workhouse infirmaries.
