Platinum Status for Inglefield Care Home in Totland Bay – and a Nomination for National Award

The team at Inglefield Nursing and Residential Care Home in Totland Bay are celebrating a proud moment, having been awarded Platinum status by the Gold Standards Framework (GSF) – the highest level of national accreditation for end-of-life care.

This prestigious award recognises the team’s consistently high standards, compassionate approach, and thoughtful support for residents and families. It also comes with more exciting news: Inglefield has been nominated for GSF Care Home of the Year, placing it among the very best in the UK.

Home Manager Charlotte Willis shared the news:
“I’m absolutely delighted to share that Inglefield has been awarded Platinum status. This is a huge achievement and a reflection of the care, kindness and commitment I see in our team every day. We’re also incredibly proud to have been nominated for Care Home of the Year – I’ll be sure to keep everyone updated after the awards in September.”
The GSF report spoke warmly of the home’s culture and care delivery, praising the “attention to detail” and “above and beyond” approach. One family shared their thanks:
“I have never known such kindness and I will be forever grateful for what you did for (family member) and what you have done for me.”

Inspectors highlighted the team’s personal touches, including a bespoke cushion made from a resident’s clothing and given to his wife – something they described as “much appreciated by the family.”
The home’s reputation for genuine, people-first care was summed up by another family member, who said:
“The home is a very stable train that was holding us – all we needed to do was turn up. Everything was taken care of.
Inglefield’s culture and commitment to doing things properly didn’t go unnoticed. As one assessor wrote:
“The staff team are compassionate and truly care about the implementation of the GSF and ensuring that they are doing it correctly in order to support their residents.”

Director Liana Birkett added:
“Charlotte and the team work with so much heart. They truly care about the people they support and they’ve earned every bit of this recognition.”
The official awards ceremony will take place this September in Birmingham, where the national Care Home of the Year will be announced.
