Residents at The Orchards Residential Home were delighted to welcome a very special guest recently, when Earl, a four-week-old lamb, came to visit.
The adorable young lamb spent time meeting residents in the home’s lounges, as well as visiting many residents in their rooms, giving everyone the chance to enjoy a cuddle, a stroke, and a closer look at their woolly visitor.
There was plenty of excitement as Earl made his way around the home, with residents sharing smiles, memories and stories of their own experiences with animals, farming and countryside life.
The visit brought warmth and joy to the day, creating a lovely opportunity for residents to connect with nature and enjoy the gentle companionship animals can bring.
Laura Birkett, one of the Directors for The Orchards Residential Home said: “It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Earl to The Orchards. Our residents were so excited to meet him, and it was wonderful to see the smiles, conversations and memories he sparked. Animal visits are always special, but there was something particularly lovely about having such a young lamb with us.”
The visit forms part of The Orchards Residential Home’s varied activities programme, which supports residents’ wellbeing through meaningful, enjoyable and engaging experiences.
