Residents at Willow Bank Residential Home were treated to a show-stopping afternoon as Northeast Productions brought a wonderful slice of theatre into the home with a lively, small-scale performance of the much-loved musical Oliver!.
From the opening number to the final curtain call, the performance had everyone completely absorbed. For a while, Christmas dinners and mince pies were firmly forgotten as the real feast took place on stage. By the end, residents weren’t asking for an encore — they were channelling their inner Oliver and calling out, “Please Sir, can I have some more!”
The energy, humour and talent of the performers filled the room, creating an afternoon packed with smiles, laughter and plenty of applause. Enjoying live theatre up close, in the comfort of the home, made the experience all the more special.
The Home Manager Carole, at Willow Bank said:
“This was such a treat for our residents. You could see how much they were enjoying every moment — the laughter, the singing, the sheer fun of it all. Bringing theatre into the home like this makes such a difference and gives everyone something to talk about long after the curtain comes down.”

A huge thank you goes to the two performers from Northeast Productions for bringing creativity, energy and a real theatrical experience to Willow Bank. The performance was a clear highlight of the home’s pre-Christmas celebrations and left everyone in wonderfully festive spirits.
With entertainment like this, it’s safe to say that at Willow Bank… it’s starting to look a lot like panto-time.
