There’s a real buzz at Willow Bank House in Pershore this week – as two of our much-loved team members have been shortlisted in the national Dementia Care Awards 2025.
Liam Goddard, our talented Head Chef, is a finalist in the Creative Nutrition category, recognised for his thoughtful, memory-inspired menus tailored to residents living with dementia.
Hayley Williams, our compassionate Head of Care, has been shortlisted in the Dementia Frontline Leader category for her calm leadership and deep-rooted commitment to person-centred care.
Liam, who trained as a chef in Worcester and joined Willow Bank four years ago, has transformed mealtimes into meaningful moments. His recent ‘Taste of Home’ project brought nostalgia to the table, cooking childhood favourites like jam roly-poly and shepherd’s pie – dishes that sparked smiles, stories and appetite.

Hayley has worked in care for over 15 years, joining Willow Bank in 2019. Her leadership has guided the home’s dementia care approach, introducing sensory spaces and tailoring every care plan around the person behind the diagnosis.
Hayley said” This nomination means so much, but the real reward is seeing our residents feel truly seen and supported every day.’”
Their recognition is a testament to the passion, innovation and kindness that defines the team at Willow Bank.

Willow Bank House is proud to be part of the Pershore community, regularly welcoming local schoolchildren, musicians and volunteers. Both finalists are active in supporting these local connections, helping make the home a vibrant and inclusive space.
The winners of the Dementia Care Awards will be announced on Thursday 19th June 2025, at the Hilton London Bankside. Whatever the outcome, the whole team – and the wider Buckland Care family – will be cheering them on.
