At West Bank Residential Home, National Dog Day was celebrated in style this August with our very own Virtual Dog Show! The event featured three fun categories: the cutest, scruffiest, and tallest dogs. With 70 entries from the local community, it was a joy to see so many adorable dogs participate. Our residents had the honour of judging the competition and selected three well-deserved winners: Rio, Agnes, and Pixie. Each winner was treated to a special pooch hamper full of goodies as a token of their victory.
The excitement didn’t stop there! This week, the celebrations reached a heartwarming climax when residents were given the chance to meet Agnes, the winner of the “Tallest Dog” category. Agnes, a gentle giant with a calm and loving demeanour, visited the home and was met with plenty of admiration and affection. She quickly became the centre of attention as residents enjoyed giving her all the pets and cuddles, she could handle.
“We were all thrilled to meet Agnes in person,” said one resident. “She was so sweet and gentle, and seeing her made our day extra special.”
Events like these are part of our ongoing mission to provide meaningful, engaging activities that enhance the well-being of our residents. The Virtual Dog Show not only brought fun and excitement to the home but also fostered a sense of community connection and joy for all involved.
A huge thank you to all the dogs and their owners who participated in making this event such a success, and to Agnes for bringing so much happiness to our residents during her visit!
Stay tuned for more events and updates at West Bank Residential Home as we continue to create moments of joy for our wonderful community.
