Willow Bank Residential Home had a delightful long weekend, filled with anticipation and celebration of the King’s Coronation. The residents and staff participated in numerous activities, preparing for the grand event and commemorating the occasion in style.
In the lead-up to the Coronation, the home transformed into a bustling hub of creativity. Residents and staff worked together to create beautiful decorations, including bunting, which was displayed at Croome Court over the Coronation weekend. These decorations were designed with nature in mind, a tribute to all the charitable work Charles has undertaken for nature and the environment.
Adding to the excitement, the Willow Bank’s talented kitchen team crafted a magnificent four-tier cake for the coronation day. The residents were thrilled to lend a hand in decorating the cake, resulting in a truly spectacular centrepiece for the Coronation celebration.
The climax of the weekend’s festivities was the Coronation party held for residents, featuring an afternoon tea buffet. Residents gathered around a projector screen to watch the momentous event of the King’s Coronation, sharing in the national celebration and creating lasting memories.
“We wanted to ensure our residents had a meaningful and enjoyable Coronation experience,” said Carole, the home manager. “It was a pleasure to see them actively involved in the preparations and celebrations, and we hope it made their weekend feel even more special.”
Willow Bank Residential Home is proud of its community for their enthusiastic participation and is delighted to have been part of this historic event.
