Bringing Spring Cheer to Kingland House with Flower Arranging

Residents at Kingland House Care Home spent a joyful afternoon embracing the beauty of spring a little early, creating their own stunning floral arrangements to brighten up these late winter days.

Surrounded by fresh flowers in a variety of vibrant colours, residents carefully selected and arranged their bouquets, filling the home with the scent of spring and plenty of smiles. The activity provided not only a creative outlet but also a wonderful opportunity for reminiscence, with many residents sharing fond memories of gardening and favourite flowers from years gone by.

Home Manager Tracy said: “It’s amazing how something as simple as flowers can lift everyone’s spirits. The residents loved choosing their blooms and putting together their own arrangements. It was a beautiful way to bring a little springtime indoors while enjoying a relaxing and social afternoon together.”

Flower arranging is known to have therapeutic benefits, promoting mindfulness, improving dexterity, and encouraging conversation. At Kingland House, it was an afternoon filled with laughter, creativity, and a shared appreciation for nature’s beauty.

As the floral displays now brighten up the home, the memories of this special activity will last long beyond the petals. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part and helped bring a touch of spring to Kingland House!
