Inglefield Nursing and Residential Home in Totland Bay, is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant/Trainee Chef to join our culinary team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their skills within a dynamic food service environment. The successful candidate will support the kitchen operations by assisting with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised workspace. Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant settings is advantageous for progression as Trainee Chef with full training to cover in the Kitchen.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE: 

• Assist with meal and food preparation, ensuring all ingredients are prepared according to recipes and standards
• Support the kitchen team in maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene compliance
• Help with the organisation and cleanliness of the kitchen area, including washing utensils, equipment, and work surfaces
• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping, peeling, and measuring
• Assist in serving meals to customers or staff as required
• Support with stock organisation and inventory checks to ensure supplies are well-managed
• Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment

ABOUT YOU: 

• Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and safety standards
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail

Salary: £12.80 per hour
