Residents at Inglefield Nursing & Residential Home in Totton enjoyed a heartwarming visit this week from their much-loved therapy dog as part of the home’s one-to-one activity programme.
The gentle sessions, arranged for residents who prefer or benefit from quieter, room-based interactions, offered moments of connection, comfort and joy. The presence of the therapy dog sparked smiles, conversation and memories of pets from years gone by.
Charlotte the homes manager said:
“Our therapy dog visits are always a highlight for residents. For many, it brings back fond memories of their own pets and provides a real sense of companionship. It’s wonderful to see the difference these visits make.”
Animal therapy forms an important part of the wellbeing activities at Inglefield, helping to reduce stress, lift mood and create meaningful connections.
