Alpacas and a Pygmy Goat Bring Joy to West Bank Care Home

Residents at West Bank Care Home were treated to a truly special surprise this week when some rather unusual visitors strolled through the corridors—George and Tolly the alpacas, along with Pickle the pygmy goat. The unexpected guests, brought in by Steve from Bedrock Alpacas, sparked delight, laughter, and plenty of heartwarming moments.

Pet therapy has long been known for its positive effects on wellbeing, and this visit was no exception. Residents’ faces lit up as they stroked the soft coats of the alpacas and enjoyed the playful presence of Pickle the goat. The interactions brought comfort, nostalgia, and a sense of joy to everyone involved, creating an atmosphere of pure happiness throughout the home.

“These kinds of visits mean the world to our residents,” said a spokesperson for West Bank Care Home. “Seeing the surprise and excitement on their faces was just wonderful. It’s not every day you find an alpaca wandering through your home, and moments like this bring so much laughter and conversation.”

West Bank Care Home would like to extend a huge thank you to Steve and Bedrock Alpacas for making this experience possible. Their dedication to spreading joy through animal therapy has left a lasting impression, and residents are already looking forward to their next visit.
