Inglefield Care Home Rallies for Local Teen with “Wear What Makes You Happy” Fundraiser

Staff and residents at Inglefield Care Home have donned their brightest, comfiest, and quirkiest outfits today—all for a cause close to their hearts. The care home has come together for “Wear What Makes You Happy” Day, raising funds to support 16-year-old Arlo, an Isle of Wight teenager recently diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer.

Arlo’s family is facing an unimaginable challenge, as his treatment is not available on the NHS. Determined to help in any way they can, the Inglefield team embraced the simple but powerful idea: wear something that sparks joy, spread positivity, and raise as much as possible to support Arlo’s fight.

From colourful socks to fancy dress and cosy pyjamas, the team at Inglefield certainly delivered on the brief! More than just a fun dress-down day, the event was a reminder of the power of community, kindness, and rallying around those in need.

The home Manager for Inglefield Care Home said:

“When we heard Arlo’s story, we knew we wanted to do something to help. Today has been a day of smiles, laughter, and fundraising—all in the hope of making a difference for Arlo and his family. We are so proud of our incredible team for getting involved and showing their support.”

A huge thank you to everyone at Inglefield who took part—your generosity and spirit truly make a difference.
