Residents at Inglefield Nursing & Residential Home enjoyed a day filled with music, laughter and plenty of cuddles when singers from Independent Arts and a much-loved therapy dog came to visit.
The day began with a lively sing-along led by talented musicians Hazel and Pete from Independent Arts. The lounge was soon filled with familiar songs, tapping toes and smiling faces as residents joined in with the music.
The performance gave residents the opportunity to reminisce, sing together and enjoy the uplifting atmosphere created by live music.
In the afternoon, the home welcomed another very special visitor: Cooper the therapy dog.
Cooper spent time with residents throughout the home, offering companionship, comfort and plenty of affection. He was rewarded with lots of head scratches, cuddles and, naturally, a few treats along the way.
Charlotte, Home Manager at Inglefield, said: “It was such a wonderful day from beginning to end. Hazel and Pete brought so much energy and happiness into the home, and it was lovely to see residents singing along and enjoying the music together.
“Cooper’s visit was equally special. He has such a gentle and calming nature, and our residents absolutely love spending time with him. There were smiles everywhere he went.
“We would like to thank Hazel, Pete and Cooper for helping us create such a happy and memorable day.”
Music and animal visits form part of Inglefield’s varied activities programme, which is designed around residents’ interests and supports their emotional wellbeing, social connection and enjoyment of everyday life.
